New Year President's Note
Dear Friend,
I wanted to take a moment to let you know that your Friends for Friends (FfF) executive board met last month and approved donations for the four nominations we received during the Christmas season.
The first donation went to a young mother who is being treated for a tumor that was discovered only weeks after the birth of her third child. A donation was made to help with some of her travel expenses stemming from her treatment.
The second donation went to a young female police officer who is dealing with a rare autoimmune disorder that has doctors puzzled and at the onset confined her to a wheelchair. This local law enforcement officer has been out of work for the last seven months, and a donation was made to assist with her expenses related to her numerous physical therapy appointments.
The third donation went to a family (a mother and two children) who find themselves homeless due to the mother’s inability to maintain steady employment because of her precarious health issues.
The fourth donation went to a mother to assist her in acquiring a handicap accessible van so she can transport her disabled son.
Because of your continued generosity, and support of Friends for Friends, we were able to spread $8,000 in donations among the four families.
Also, many of you have answered the call to bring in one new member to FfF, and I’m happy to report our membership list is growing steadily. Please keep talking up to your family and friends the great work our organization does in helping our neighbors in need.
We are on track to reach our goal of 100% membership dues paid for 2014, and I would like to thank the members who have already sent in their dues for the year. If you haven’t done so yet, please take a moment to do so.
And finally, TRIVIA NIGHT is set for February 22nd, so please begin to gather the names in your group and submit them to me at the address listed below. I have attached the registration form which needs to be turned in by February 14.
Thank you for being a member and making a difference in the lives of your neighbor’s in need.
