On behalf of your Friends for Friends Executive Board, I want to take a moment to wish you and your family a happy and health holidays.
As we always do, we convert your consistently generous spirit into meaningful donations to help our neighbors in need, and during the holiday season this assistance seems to offer as much emotional comfort as it does financial aid to those in crisis.
The FfF Executive team met and approved three nominations for young families enduring great hardship. One family had two children perish in a house fire, and another is grieving the loss of their husband and father who was a dedicated police officer in our community. Each received a $3,000 donation. The third donation, in the amount of $5,000, went to a mother with two young children who was displaced from their severely damaged home due to a storm, and recently was in an auto accident and she is unable to work.
And let me offer a great last-minute holiday gift idea that beats any retail gift card – and that is a one-year membership to Friends for Friends. For a $50 tax deductible donation, we will enroll and email the recipient of their special gift from you.
In closing, we are coming to the end of a year that has brought to to all of us, in varying degrees, unprecedented challenges. It appears we are gaining the upper hand on this virus, so we ask you to stay vigilant in the coming months to remain safe and healthy.
