FfF Board approved $2,500.00 for three families in need

The Friends for Friends executive board met on Oct 16, 2008 and approved the dispersal of funds totaling $2,500.00 for three families in need.

The first nomination was in the amount of $500.00 and went to assist a young woman with her college expenses. This area student, who 11 years ago buried her father and last month laid her mother to rest, is working tirelessly to finish her senior year and graduate in the spring.

The second donation was to help offset the staggering expenses of a husband and father who has been unable to work during his two-year uphill battle with cancer. FfF has donated $1,000.00.

And the last nomination went to aid a 21-year-old girl who was paralyzed in a car accident. The girl's father recently lost his job and her mother has taken a leave of absence to be home with her. FfF has donated $1,000.00 to the family. 

So on behalf of these three families, and the many others FfF has helped over the years, I want to thank you for your very generous support. Because of you, FfF has been able to lighten the financial load of area families who find themselves placed in very difficult circumstances. And perhaps more importantly, provide some assurance to our "friends" that they are not alone in their hour of need.

Also a 'friendly' reminder, if you have not yet mailed in your dues ($50.00) please forward your check (made payable to Friends for Friends) to the address listed below, or on the attached flyer.
