Dear Friends,
As we move away from the COVID-19 altered summer of 2020 and head cautiously into fall, I wanted to take a moment to give you a Friends for Friends update.
As you will recall, the health and safety guidelines in place the last several months forced us to cancel our annual FfF golf outing this year.
Losing the revenue from our biggest fundraising event on the calendar would normally put a significant crimp in our ability to maintain our pattern of donations. But thanks to the generosity of several FfF members who have helped make up the shortfall, we have been able to stay on track and continue to help our neighbors in need.
To that end, your FfF Executive Board honored the generous spirit of our members and paid it forward by approving the nominations of four families. Each family was presented with a check in the amount of $3,000.00 to help manage their financial problems brought on by medical hardships.
In closing, I would ask you to please take a moment to read the email posted below from FfF member, Marianne Rafter. Marianne shares her experience of presenting an FfF check to a family in crisis and it reminds us all of our own Blessings, as well as the uplifting impact our donations have on the recipients that goes far beyond the dollar amount given.
Thank you for being a member and making a difference.
Sincerely,
Bob Carroll, President president@FfFcharity.com

Hi Wofie, thank you to you and the members of FFF for the very generous donation to Maddie Serrano.
I presented her the check the day I received in mail at work, and to say she was overwhelmed by the generous donation would be an understatement. Once she had looked at the check she returned to my home to thank me in person and was quite emotional. This check will definitely help her get back on her feet with regard to housing.
But I just want you to know how much this group makes an impact on individuals that are going thru challenging times.
On a similar front, my nephew just finished his treatment with leukemia, after a 3 year treatment schedule, and FFF also made a very generous donation to Jimmy 3 years ago, and he too reached out to me this week to again thank me. I know Jim and his family are eternally grateful to FFF as well!
Thanks again, and be well!
